TJM Properties and affiliates formerly known as McCarthy Properties, has acquired, managed, brokered and developed real estate since 1979. The companies have acquired, developed and sold over 850 properties in Florida. These properties range from single family homes to seventeen story downtown buildings. The company had concentrated on downtown properties converting old historic hotels into Adult Congregate Living Facilities. It purchased its first hotel in 1984 and opened it as an Independent and Assisted Living center in downtown St. Petersburg. Within a year they had purchased two more facilities in St. Petersburg and one in Sebring.
The company maintained this operation while its housing division, Southside Contractors, Inc. purchased older homes and renovated them for resale. In the late 1980’s, Southside Contractors averaged over one hundred homes per year in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Orlando and Sebring markets. During the 1990’s the company turned its concentration back to purchasing older downtown hotels and apartment buildings, converting them to Independent Living facilities with the purchase of six hotels and two apartment buildings in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg. These facilities are managed through the main office at 225 3rd Street, North in St. Petersburg. All of the St. Petersburg properties are within two blocks of the central office.
In 2001, TJM Properties purchased two towers in downtown Clearwater, selling the vacant thirteen-story tower and redeveloping the fifteen-story tower into what is its marquis property, The Oaks of Clearwater, which is located downtown on Clearwater Bay.
TJM Properties is continuing to expand its holdings with an aggressive acquisition plan. The Clearwater regional team, located at 5801 Ulmerton Road, Suite 200, 33760, Clearwater, Florida, is actively pursuing the acquisition of additional Independent and Assisted Living facilities in the Eastern United States.

Forest Oaks, Spring Hill, Florida - a 145 bed assisted living facility located in one of the fastest growing areas of Florida.
Bradenton Oaks, Bradenton, Florida - a 113 unit, 145 bed assisted living facility located one mile from Manatee Memorial Hospital and downtown Bradenton, Florida.
Lake Morton Plaza, Lakeland, Florida - 126 unit high rise independent and assisted living facility overlooking a beautiful group of lakes in the heart of downtown Lakeland, Florida.
